How the E-conomic Online Accounting System began, and where we are today

The E-conomic Online Accounting System was founded in 2001 by chartered accountant Jacob Wandt, who realised at an early stage of his working life that nearly all work passing through his hands had already been ‘done’ in some form by someone else. This simply didn’t make sense and thus the idea of the E-conomic cooperation platform was born.

Once the E-conomic application was ready to see the light of day and spread to consumers in 2002, Anders Bjørnsbo entered the picture. He had the knowledge and ability to convince the right people that the E-conomic accounting system was a sure winner.

Then in the fall of 2008, Torben Frigaard Rasmussen joined E-conomic as the new CEO after 7 months as Chairman of the Board. Torben has since implemented e-conomic's mission to welcome 100,000 customers by the end of 2013.

E-conomic today

E-conomic today has depths of which Jacob could only dream, but his core idea of a collaborative platform remains solid - both when it comes to technology and accountancy in practice.

E-conomic employees

Today, E-conomic has more than 70 employees - a figure that is continuously growing - in offices throughout Europe: Denmark, England, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Germany and Spain. Furthermore, E-conomic has also welcomed customers both in France and Finland.
In E-conomic's headquarters in Copenhagen, more than 50 employees work with sales, support, development and marketing.
