FAQ on integration with E-conomic

If you want to integrate with a system that no integration has been developed for yet, you can develop one via our API.

API stands for Application Programming Interface. It is a free E-conomic add-on module that enables other systems to exchange data with E-conomic.

You can integrate your system with E-conomic by developing a program that uses the API to integrate your solution with E-conomic. You therefore need access to development resources or to have experience with technical development.

The programming language is not decisive as E-conomic uses open web based standards (SOAP) to communicate.

As a subscriber to E-conomic, you can use the API.

E-conomic's API uses open standards, so if you have in-company development resources, it is very likely that you can develop the necessary integration between your system and E-conomic yourself.

Ask your developers to look at the resources we provide.

You find full documentation for E-conomic's API on our website. It is written in .NET and we therefore provide an extra development package for .NET developers. As the API is exposed through a SOAP interface, you can also access it from JAVA, PHP and other programming languages.

If you have a question or issue concerning the API, please send an e-mail to our API support at api@e-conomic.com. E-conomic's developers will then examine the problem and respond to your e-mail within 1-2 working days.

You can also confer with other integration partners and developers in our API forum.

Here you can ask if other developers working with E-conomic's API have a solution to your problem or can help you with choosing the right solution.

You can hire experts to help you, if you do not have access to development resources yourself. There are many consultancies with experience in integrations via web-based APIs.

E-conomic knows a number of companies that have experience in developing integrations to our API. You can see them in the list of solutions under "Integration Partners".

A company must have developed at least one integration with e-conomic, in order to join the list of recommended partners. E-conomic has to review this integration, and at least one operating company must use it. This helps ensure that we recommend partners that have proven they master E-conomic's API.
