e-conomic improvements released

4 November 2009

Market Package 12 was released this morning. It contains a variety of enhancements for all countries as well as a couple of new local features.

In the customer ledger card and aged creditor reports, the invoice number is now also shown. This was made particularly relevant with the recently introduced manual customer invoice entry type, for which the invoice number and entry number are not by definition equal.

In day books, re-using supplier invoice numbers now issues a warning. In other words, if you try to create a day book entry with a supplier invoice with the same number as a previously registered supplier invoice on the same supplier, e-conomic will ask you: “Are you sure you want to register this supplier invoice again?”. If you ignore the warning, the new supplier invoice will be booked with the same number as the existing one.

When a client exceeds the subscription entry limit, an e-mail is automatically sent to the invoice e-mail address of the client (or that of the paying administrator, if applicable). This will ensure that not only the user booking the entries is notified, but also the person who pays the invoice.

In the key figure report, figures may now optionally be shown in thousands or not. This is mainly helpful for clients running in larger-valued base currencies, such as EUR or GBP.

In Project accounting, when booking employee expenses, the relevant project code is now set on the entries.

In the Entries report, as well as in Bookkeeping > Entries, a “Department” column has been added.

In day books, when an entry doesn’t balance yet, the supplier invoice number is now repeated automatically – just like the entry number.

In recurring day books, when batch updating, it is now possible to roll forward entries a specific number of days and/or months – in addition to the existing option of setting all entries to the same date.

When e-mailing invoices, etc., it is now allowed to fill in only the BCC address.

Two new currencies are available: INR (Indian rupee) and CFA (West African franc).

In the API, the field “(Automatic) Contra Account” is now available on suppliers - allowing clients to set up this and have it used by integrations automatically.

For administrators, a new add-on module is now available for export to CaseWare – allowing the administrator to export balances and/or transactions in a file format that can be imported directly into CaseWare.

Bug fixes

When exceeding the entry limit, an incorrect accounting year would sometimes be reported as the culprit.

In the new Automatic accrual in closed periods add-on module, VAT-coded entries are now handled correctly. This includes two fixes: The actual VAT entries are now accrued as well, and the VAT codes used are those of the original entries, rather than the default VAT codes defined on their accounts.

In Report Designer, columns of type Budget, movement would be calculated incorrectly.

Add-on module changes

Fixed assets, Prepayments and Balance posting are now ‘simple’ add-on modules, and can thus be activated by both clients and their administrators. Once activated for a client, anyone with access to the client – including the client herself – will have access to it.
