E-conomic expands into Spain

7th January 2010: Online accounting provider E-conomic, announces today the establishment of its operation in Spain.

E-conomic has identified Spain as fertile ground for its online accounting solution. This growth brings the firm’s international reach to six countries including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the UK and is part of a strategic expansion programme which will see the business established in 12 countries by 2012.

E-conomic’s CEO, Torben Frigaard Rasmussen comments: “The company was launched in 2002 and has grown year on year. We have proved the concept resoundingly in Denmark where we have 15% of all firms on board, having surpassed 20,000 unique companies using E-conomic.”

When asked about the global downturn’s effect on the company’s progress, Rasmussen said: “Adversity brings innovation and the global downturn will prompt accountants and business managers to demand time and cost savings and drive efficiency. This is of course where E-conomic excels with its demonstrable time and cost savings.

“Online accounting is efficient and secure, and there is a growing change in attitude towards it even amongst self-declared die-hard luddites who are having to follow client demand for harnessing the internet to provide 24/7, accessible from anywhere, cost efficient online accounting.”
