Communications Director joins E-conomic UK

The role has been created in support of E-conomic’s strategy to further develop and grow the company’s position within the UK market and will report directly to Founding Partner and UK Operational Director, Anders Bjornsbo.

Bjornsbo says: “We have absolutely no doubt E-conomic will bring great changes for the UK’s accountants in exactly the same way it has in Denmark, however, not all of them know that yet! The process of adoption has been a little slower here than in Scandinavia, and we see Marilyn’s role as opening up the world of e-conomic and online accounting as a whole to the accountancy profession. ”

Marilyn is an experienced communications professional with experience across a wide range of industry sectors including travel and publishing. She has worked with brands such as North West Airlines, Debenhams Group and the Professional Association of InnKeepers. Since 2007, she has been running her own consultancy, Create Communication.

Marilyn is looking forward to being part of E-conomic’s UK growth: “It’s an exciting and challenging time to get involved with E-conomic. There’s a lot of muttering right now in the accountancy world with a growing awareness of cloud computing but often a reluctance to accept it’s the way things will inevitably go - I simply hope to turn the volume up a notch or two. SaaS, (Software as a Service) has proved so resoundingly successful in Scandinavia and is building momentum here to such an extent that after a while it will become simply too big to ignore!”
